It requires only about an hour or two spent with a whitening gel on your teeth, and you come away with a lighter, brighter smile.

Having this done professionally is the easiest option. You are not required to read instructions and apply the gel yourself, and you can be sure that it is all done safely. Also, the concentration of carbamide peroxide used is high and so you may see complete results after only one visit! There are a few things to consider, though, if you choose this option. Having your teeth change color so suddenly might be noticed by those around you. Also, this is the most expensive option.

Another option, and the one that is currently the most popular, is to use an at home tooth whitening kit. There are a few different types of kits, but they are all effective and safe to use at home. They do require more time than the professional treatments, though.

When using an at home kit you will be given either strips of plastic, covered int he whitening agent, that are pressed onto the teeth for about a half an hour two times a day, or you may choose a kit that uses teeth trays. Teeth trays are great for light teeth whitening, as the gel is conformed to your teeth by the custom tooth trays.

So you see there are options available for everyone. Whichever you choose that is best suited to you, once you get started you will be on your way to a whiter, brighter smile in one day or, with the at home kits, a week or two!
