This is because you place the trays in hot water until the plastic becomes soft and pliable. Then you put them in your mouth and, using your lips, tongue and fingers, press it to your teeth. It will then form around your teeth, giving you a custom made tray.

Customizable mouth trays are the most effect way to administer whitening gel. They stay where they are put and keep the gel right by your teeth. Also, there is very little spillage when the correct amount of gel is placed in the trays.
